Eyeing for Spring
What I'm buying, coveting, trends I'm adding to the closet, and some looks-for-less!
We may have gotten two feet of snow dumped on us a short while ago, but it’s due to reach into the 60’s next weekend, it’s March, and in my world that means Spring is on its way (hopefully).
I have started to make a handful of purchases to fill a couple of gaps in my closet that I want to fill as the weather gets warmer, and also some trends that I want to add, so I will touch more upon those, too!
As usual, I shop a lot from Aritiza as their clothing tends to fit my petite yet curvy frame well. I picked up the Middlebury Chino Pant in Hourglass Tan, because the pleating is cool and the wide leg is relaxed. On my 4’11” height, these will be a little longer, and I plan on seeing where they fall to decide if they will get hemmed. They will be worn with low-profile sneakers or loafers. I also got the Bare Cashmere Cellini Polo Sweater in Lemon/Brown Heather because I don’t own any short-sleeved sweaters, and I think it’s a good transitional item. The stripes and pastel colors are also perfect for spring. I also loved the pattern in the Birch/Jellybean Pink colorway, so I got the Bare Cashmere Exemplar Cardigan. I have my eye on the Modus Blazer, because I loved the cropped and belted style, but I already got a belted blazer recently and want to see how I wear and style it before picking up another. For lounging, I picked up the Homestretch Beat Drop Capri in Heather Grey because I already own the top and longer bottoms and wanted a shorter option.
Shoe-wise, I picked up the Sperry x Aritzia Slim Boat Shoe in Distressed Chocolate Brown because boat shoes are a trend this spring, but I didn’t feel like spending MiuMiu money on them. I wanted to add a white loafer to the mix, but not a super bright white. While Black Suede Studio Arrow Loafers are a fave of mine and super comfortable, and these Darlyn ones look supreme, I found these Tony Bianco Gatsby in Vanilla Venice ones that were a bit more wallet-friendly and include a tiny bit more height for me.
I have my eye on some low-profile sneakers. While you can certainly still wear your Adidas Sambas (and I plan on it!), even slimmer profiles are coming to the forefront, including the Sneakerina (a more ballet-inspired look). I’m not sure about a literal ballet sneaker just yet, but I DO have my eye on Adidas Tokyo and Japan in a couple of fun colorways, as well as the Onitsuka Tiger. Again, taking inspo from MiuMiu and Prada here. However, I do think Prada took a little bit of inspo from Vans on these. Get the Vans - I have and own, and they are comfy! These and these are cute too!
Another cute option is the Sneaker/Mary Jane combo. I have had the white Samba Jane since last summer, so I’m excited to break these out again, but this is definitely a trend if you’re into it. MiuMiu has these too (can you tell I love MiuMiu?).
I think the goal here is to make sneakers fun, less utilitarian. Use them as an actual accessory with a fun color (red or cobalt blue), a print (zebra or leopard), a fabric combo (metallics), or a combination of laces.
Once again, I’m sticking to the relaxed style that feels comfortable to me for everyday, but gently adding in trends that feel natural, without overspending.
Look out for a review and perhaps a try-on haul. In addition, I’ve gotten in a couple of pairs of great jeans, both more reasonably priced (Levi’s) and higher-end (AYR), that I’ll be trying on for you!
What trends do you have your eye on for spring? Anything you’re excited about? I have a couple more, so keep an eye out!

Love the Tokyo! Will be getting that, thanks!!!
